About the tour

Sheltered by the heights of the Palatinate Forest and bordered by the Rhine to the east, this is also called Germany’s “Garden of Paradise”. The paths through the landscape of almond trees stretch like a flowering ribbon through the hilly vineyards in spring.

A pink start to spring – when no green dares to come out of the buds and there are only a few blossoms, countless almond trees enchant towns and streets with their delicate pink blossoms that smell of spring flowers. Here, nature is awakened by the southern sun a good two weeks earlier than elsewhere. One of the most beautiful harbingers of spring is the almond blossom.

The guided almond tree and circular walk starts in Deidesheim, lets you experience the varied wine landscape, often still dressed in grey, in fascinating views in pink blossom clouds, learn interesting facts about the earliest spring of the year and the fruits of the trees, and discover culinary delights from the area.
